Saint-Junien : at the gateway to the Périgord Limousin Regional Nature Park, the town possesses a rich architectural heritage: Romanesque collegiate church, 11the century cemetery chapel (HQ of the Blue Pentitents Brotherhood from the 16th to the 19th centuries), Notre de Dame du Pont gothic chapel, the remains of St Armand's abbey, covered market, remains of the old town walls, bridges over the river and the old town. The 2nd biggest town in the département, Saint-Junien also has a busy manufacturing and cooperative past:glovemakers, tawers, papermakers. Chaillac sur Vienne : St Saturnin's gothic church - its excellent acoustics has made it a popular venue for recordings Javerdat : to the south of the Monts Blonds, many hiking routes on which where you can see dolmens and menhirs. Oradour sur Glane : scene of the massacre of the entire population on 10 juin 1944, the ruins of the village are a listed historical monument and a visit to the site gives considerable pause for thought. Other towns worth visiting for their churches and legends include: Saillat sur Vienne, Saint Martin de Jussac and Saint Victurnien
